CHAPTER 17 VERSE 1
Jesus spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven and said:”
Father, the hour has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son also may glorify
You”
The
Lord knew what was to happen; because He fulfilled and obeyed all the commands
He received from the Father knowing that His Father is a righteous wage giver.
However the Disciples could not understand at this time but later they did
understood. The Lord had to stress this in His prayer, so when the disciples
saw Him on the cross and later on resurrected, to understand what it means to
glorify God and be glorified by Him. If we also want to be blessed and be
glorified by God we can stand in front of Him with a sincere and steadfast decision,
with self-denial, with living faith and living sacrifice which reveals
unconditional love. Otherwise, if we only have the faith based on shadows
(typical faith), faith only with words and not actions, we will create in our
lives spiritual confusion, many WHYS will overwhelm our minds and the result
will be for us to be saturated with grief and bitterness. However, if we live
and work with sincerity and show love and holiness in our lives we will know
that we have a mission and it is only matter of time for God to glorify us. Let
this be done… Amen.
CHAPTER 17 VERSE 2
“As You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should
give eternal life to as many You have given Him.”
He
received the power because He fulfilled His spiritual goals towards His Father
and towards humanity. As it is mentioned in the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus
revealed before His ascension “Now it is given to Me all power and authority in
Heaven and on Earth”. Since He implemented the will of His Father, He received
eternal imperishable life and authority to grant this to others. Therefore, He
knows what shall be revealed to us so we can also implement and receive eternal
life. When we implement and apply His teachings, God will utilize us as chosen
vessels, as heirs of God, coheirs of Christ, partakers of His glory. Also, we
can convey eternal life, life of Christ, to all people who God will send in our
way through the Holy Spirit to follow us and unite so we can create the kingdom
of God on Earth. Let this be done…. Amen.
CHAPTER 17 VERSE 3
And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true
God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.
“I
have been with you for so long and you still have not recognized Me Phillip? He
who saw Me saw the Father”. Christ is life and He who will follow Him, he will
receive eternal life. Christ today, speaks to us;
First,
through a missionary,
Second,
through the word of God Old and New Testament
Third,
through the Holy Spirit
Fourth,
through the Son and Word of the living God and
Fifth,
through the Father.
That
is how we get to know God. Let this be done… Amen.
CHAPTER 17 VERSE 4-6
“I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work
which You have given Me to do. And now, O Father glorify Me together with
Yourself, with the glory which I Had with You before the world was. I have
manifested Your Name to the men whom You have given Me out of the world. They
were Yours, You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your Word”.
The
glory of the Son is recognized first that He was born from Virgin Mary and
became a person like us. Secondly, is that He fought the devil and defeated him
in the desert and later on when accused and persecuted by the Scribes and the
Pharisees revealed a strong judgment and complete abnegation (self-denial).
Third, for preaching the true Gospel of the kingdom with His words and His
works. Fourth, He was crucified for the glory of God, revealing the true love
towards His Father, which represents the love of God towards the salvation of the
human race. Fifth, His resurrection. Sixth, He appeared with His body before
His disciples. Seventh, He ascended in glory. Eight, He sat on the right hand
of the Father and He sent the Holy Spirit to His people. The glory which the Father
gave to the Son is that everyone will bow and kneel before Him and in His Name
God will be glorified on a global scale. Also, through His power we can
likewise, be blessed with signs, fruits and gifts of the Holy Spirit in order
to continue the work of God through the Holy Spirit on Earth. Lastly, with His
resurrection and eternal, imperishable immortal life which God grant Him. Jesus
Christ, saved, redeemed His body and did not taste corruption. This is briefly
the glory of the Lord; obedience, humility and unconditional love towards the
Father. And this is the glory of the Father; the powers, the incorruptible
eternal life which I wish for all of us to receive. Let this be done…. Amen.
CHAPTER 17 VERSE 7-8
Now they have known that all things which You given Me are from
You. For I have given to them the words which You have given Me; and they have
received them, and have known surely that I came forth from You; and they have
believed that You sent Me.
Whatever the Lord said and whatever the
word of God is referred in the New Testament is the Spirit of the Father. The
word of God was incarnated in the body of Christ. John the Theologian reveals
to us “The word became flesh and dwelt among us and we saw the glory as the
only begotten of the Father full of grace and truth”. This was done by Christ
and gave the power and the right to all people to be able to do the same.
Likewise, we can also, through devotion and practice the commandments of God,
manifest the word of God in us and give it flesh and bones and gain eternal
life. The Lord told us that “You can do more than I did”. This is the
stimulation for us today to follow Christ and defeat the enemies which are;
sin, corruption, old age and death. May God act within us and enlighten us in order
to understand what we say and take it seriously and begin the battle against
sin, corruption, death and come forth winners. The winner will inherit
everything. Let this be done…. Amen.
CHAPTER 17 VERSE 9
I pray for them, I do not
pray for the world but for those whom you have given Me, for they are Yours.
The
world lies in wickedness and consciously avoids God and His commandments. But
whoever follows Him and he performs battles against wickedness and carries out
obedience to the will of God; he will be saved. When the Lord sees good
intention and positive approach to God, He cares and He prays for us to His
Father and for us to be where He is.
CHAPTER 17 VERSE 11
Now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and
I come to You. Holy Father keep through Your name those whom You have given Me,
that they may be one as We are.
To
be one, means that God and a person are one soul, one heart, one spirit. The
spirit of Christ shall abide in all of us. The way God preserves us and brings
forth His salvation plan is by sending the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will
have the power to ensure in us the incorruptible life, the euphoria, the joy,
the exhilaration, which the wisdom of God provides and the strength to become
spiritually reborn and regenerated to believe with the living faith and perform
the works for the kingdom of God to be established within us and around us
worldwide. The unfulfilled promises of God will be fulfilled through the Holy
Spirit;
Demolish
sin throughout the world
Eliminate
corruption and death from our bodies
Establish
the kingdom of God in us and around us
Resurrection
of the dead to take place in order for God to reign as in heaven and on earth.
Let this be done…. Amen.
CHAPTER 17 VERSE 12
While I was with them in the world, I kept them in Your name.
Those who You gave Me I have kept; and none of them is lost except the son of
perdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled.
“He
who endures to the end He will be saved”. We shall stay close to God in a spirit
of learning and obedience on the examples of the Holy Gospel, so we stay away
from the selfish ambitions and egoistical interests which can flood our minds
and cast us out from the will of God. Let us be aware of the spirit of
contradiction which never believes but always tries to convince others. When we
are governed by this spirit we are trapped and pervaded and we do not have the
desire or the will to sacrifice anything from what we have and cherish, such as
material glory riches etc.. for anyone else as a proof of love.
CHAPTER 17 VERSE 13
But now I come to you, and these things I speak in the world,
that they may have My joy fulfilled in themselves.
In the world exists grief. “Be of good cheer; I have overcome
this world”.
“I
give peace on to you”. The analysis of the joy of God resides in the victory of
the Lord who defeats corruption and death. We therefore, if we truly believe
that corruption and death will be demolished, despite our vicissitudes that
exist now in our lives we will decode and manifest the peace and joy of Christ
in our lives and we will increase the incorruptible eternal life with in us and
around us.
CHAPTER 17 VERSE 14
I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them
because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.
When
we accept the word of God, we immediately can be regenerated by God. In such a
manner we can repent and flee from the world because the world does not longer
provide us life and essential objectives which carry us to the likeness and the
image of our Father. Once we get to know God and understand the mighty mission
of Christ and we taste God’s joy and peace in our lives, our goal is to be the
image and the likeness of Him. This becomes our desire so therefore, if we
remain in the worldly desires and ways (sin) we do not manifest in us the pure sanctify
joy of God’s word and we do not enter in the Holy of the Holies. The world
hates those people who work the works of God because the righteousness of God,
the love of God, the truth, humbleness, these are hard values for the world to
adopt because these values do not serve selfish desires and egoistical
ambitions and that is why these people are hated by the world of wickedness.
Asking God to leave this world or die because we cannot tolerate others or
their offences or removing ourselves from the world with the excuse that we
want to devote time to God is an easy solution not to fight our weaknesses.
Finding a way to live in the world and apply God’s commandments based on love
and help others to regenerate themselves is our mission to bring forth the plan
of God. Doing so, we have complete blessings and we are protected from the evil
which acts in the world with sin personal benefits ambitions etc… We protect
ourselves when we develop these three elements in our lives; Study the word of
God; Prayer; Spread the word of God to create societies of God. These elements
can bring in our lives joy; inexpressible joy of Christ; eternal joy. Let this
be done… Amen.
CHAPTER 17 VERSE 19
And for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also may be
sanctified by the truth.
When
we practice the word of God in our lives, the others around us recognize the
love and become enticed towards God and spiritually reborn. This brings
sanctification and blessings to the person who applies and preaches the word of
God. Paul the Apostle said “You are the seal of My mission”.
CHAPTER 17 VERSE 22
And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may
be one just as We are one;
The
glory of the Lord is that we become shareholders by Christ in the
sanctification, in the fruits, signs and gifts of the Holy Spirit. Also, we
become through Christ, heirs of God, coheirs of Christ and partakers of the
glory of God. We become shareholders of the spiritual building of God as
intellectual partners. Finally we become shareholders of incorruptible immortal
eternal life. I think it’s worth it for us to repent and begin the battle to
race for these goals. Moreover, these goals are not compared with other worldly
or human targets because the glory of these goals is eternal and the glory of
the world’s targets is for a little while. I wish to all the understanding of
what we are saying. Let this be done… Amen.
CHAPTER 17 VERSE 23
I in them and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one,
and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You
loved Me.
The
world will know Christ when we will show unconditional love and sincere
dedication by following God with joy under any circumstances. Others will see us and they will follow us in
unity in order for God to be glorified. Amen.
CHAPTER 17 VERSE 24
Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me
where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You
loved Me before the foundation of the world.
The
Lord in any time or period is present through the Holy Spirit before and after
His ascension. The one thing that He asks and wants from the Father is to have
all His disciples and all the faithful in His name united among them and united
with Him through the Holy Spirit because
either alive or dead we are in the Lord. The Lord said “He who believes in ME
he shall not die unto the centuries”. This is the meaning of this verse.
CHAPTER 17 VERSE 25-26
O righteous Father! The world has not known You, but I have
known that You sent Me. And I have declared to them Your name, and will declare
it, that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.
The
disciples knew that the Lord is Godsend because they had spiritual
responsibility and were governed by intellectual integrity. With spiritual
determination, the Lord managed to bring the will of God on earth and in
people. God’s will is the sacrifice which will save the people from corruption
and death, granting unto them the great mercy. Let this be done…. Amen.
CHAPTER 18 VERSE 2-3
And Judas who betrayed Him, also knew the place; for Jesus often
met there with His disciples. Then Judas, having received a detachment of
troops, and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, came there with
lanterns, torches, and weapons.
The
devil is knowledgeable of many things and he is always as a spirit near a
person. If the person is a chosen blessed vessel the devil is there to train
him in order to complete his mission. If the person is not chosen blessed
vessel the devil with his scandals and tricks slowly trades this person and
sells him to corruption, sin and death. Also, the devil acts in the mind as a
spirit and with thoughts that distorts the truth and creates in a person a
virtual negative situation which produces grief. Still yet, the devil acts
among people who are governed by spiritual ignorance and intellectual frivolity
as in the case of Judas.
CHAPTER 18 VERSE 5
They answered Him “Jesus of Nazareth”. Jesus said to them “I am
He”. And Judas who betrayed Him also stood there.
There
are people when are questioned by the authorities and powers of this world
differ their theories and beliefs and compromise with others and abandon their
goals and they do such, so they won’t suffer persecution. This is a sly selfish
and beneficial behavior to reject God and this leads them over time to a loss.
Christ taught us the YES YES and the NO NO.
CHAPTER 18 VERSE 6
Then – when He said to them “I am He” – they drew back and fell
to the ground.
The
power of spiritual reborn people through their word is infinite. Let us be
reminded in the Old Testament the prophets had enormous power in their word
that others listened or were chased away. At this time the word of the Lord had
enormous energy and omnipotence for everyone to fall down on the ground. That
same word gave life, gave food and did many great miracles. If we strive to
become chosen blessed vessels, than our word will have vast powers which will
be beneficial and grateful eternally in the spiritual world. Likewise, our word
will chase the negative world away, so the demons cannot act within us or
around us performing in their sly wicked ways.
CHAPTER 18 VERSE 8-9
Jesus answered,” I have told you that I am He. Therefore if you
seek Me let these go their way”. That the saying might be fulfilled which He
spoke, “Of those whom you gave Me I have lost none”.
If
we have responsibilities and obligations in our daily lives and we try our best
to fulfil them, let alone God Himself. The Lord will not expose His flock to
danger or the risk for them to be condemned to death. So that is why he picked
up the load without hesitation and no excuse. Therefore, He did not allow for
anyone to be lost. Let us be aware that God does not endanger His disciples and
we shall do the same. When we preach the Gospel of the kingdom and God sends to
us other people, we shall find a way for them to grow spiritually and
righteously in our societies that we live in without them being blamed or
persecuted and mocked with result of them to suffer. There is a way. When we
will understand the sacrifice of love of Christ we will find the way to protect
our brothers and sisters and do not expose them to danger. Peter still having
the spirit of the world and more specifically the law which Moses put in place
for the people in order to bring order in the Israelites, where the law is eye
for an eye and a tooth for a tooth, so according to the law, Peter sought to
alleviate his master from the sacrifice on the cross and by the humiliation he
would have receive from the Scribes and the Pharisees. However, the Lord was
governed by the spirit of His Father which reads “Love your enemies, bless them
who curse you, help those who hurt you, so you can become sons and Daughters of
the Father in heaven”. The Lord loved His Father when He gave Him powers and
everyone around Him were joyous, but also He loved Him when He was to glorify
Him with His sacrifice on the cross. Likewise, we shall love our God when He
blesses our lives as we know (material) but also love Him when we are trained
to be truly children of God and not illegitimate. Moreover, God trains the ones
He loves so they can become pure children of His.
CHAPTER 18 VERSE 14
Now it was Caiaphas who gave counsel to the Jews that it was
expedient that one man should die for the people.
Caiaphas
the priest said that and he meant it as an interest of his people so the people
and especially, specifically, the scribes and the Pharisees do not lose their
power that they had illegally. But the positive side of Caiaphas statement is
that Christ shall be crucified to save the nation and so it will. He prophesied
correctly without knowing the meaning from what he was saying. We say a lot of
things. From all of what we say, some are great truths. If we have the Holy
Spirit with in us we will figure out which of those words are God’s and which
is a fallacy plan and governed by deceit. Amen.
CHAPTER 18 VERSE 15-16
And Simon Peter followed Jesus and so did another disciple. Now
that disciple was known to the high priest, and went with Jesus into the
courtyard of the high priest. But Peter stood at the door outside. Then the
other disciple, who was known to the high priest, went out and spoke to her who
kept the door, and brought Peter in.
John
the disciple, was known to be the disciple of the Lord to the chief priests and
to all Jews and he was preaching Christ until old age and while all disciples
of the Lord were killed no one touch John. Only at the end of his life, he was
sent in exile to the island of Patmos in order to write the Book of Revelation.
What we know is that the Lord granted John His divine love as to no other
disciple. The disciples loved their Lord and the Lord loved them also, but this
disciple named John stood out and loved Him with special affection because he
was full in obedience and he was the one who was always near Him under any
circumstances. The Lord loved John so much to the point to grant him eternal
imperishable life.
CHAPTER 18 VERSE 17
Then the servant girl who kept the door said to Peter, “You are
not also one of this Man‘s disciples, are you? He said “I am not”.
Peter
was the leader among the disciples of the lord and as a leader of twelve
naturally a lot of people knew him. The reason they were asking him and not
recognizing him it was due to the fact that the Lord was praying to prevent
them of recognizing Peter. We know that Peter was crucified later on, but here
if the Jews had recognized Peter and if he had not denied being Christ’s
disciple maybe they will had him captured and crucify him together with the
Lord. Therefore the prayer protected Peter not to be recognized. The
realization of God’s verse takes place in this situation “Neither he who plants
nor he who waters but the merciful God who gives the increase”.
CHAPTER 18 VERSE 20-21
Jesus answered him “I spoke openly to the world. I always taught
in synagogues and in the temple, where the Jews always meet, and in secret I
have said nothing. Why do you ask Me? Ask those who have heard Me what I have
said to them. Indeed they know what I said”.
There
are many people who say different things in secret and other things in the
open, especially when they feel that they will be blamed for their beliefs and
it will hurt their selfishness their benefits or their ego. These people do not
have a strong personality in God but are possessed by two faced spirit (double
minded). The answer of the Lord to the high priest teaches us the uprightness of
character and that the devil was unable to plant the lie in the Lord’s heart in
order to use it and avoid the risk of danger. I wish we can all be ideal people
and inherit a strong personality in God. Let this be done… Amen.
CHAPTER 18 VERSE 22-23
And when He had said these things one of the officers who stood
by struck Jesus with the palm of his hand saying, ”Do you answer the high priest like that?” Jesus answered him “If I
have spoken evil bear witness of the evil; but if well, why do you strike Me?”
The
Lord made this inquiry to this man for his action, in order for us to
understand that when we are treated unfairly or blamed or persecuted and if we
are given the opportunity to claim our rights we shall do.
CHAPTER 18 VERSE 27
Peter then denied again; and immediately a rooster crowed.
The
Lord is also a great prophet a part from being the Son of God, because He
foretold to Peter what would happen. Peter was scared for his own life. When we
have fear it implies that we lack love in our lives. No one can be strong spiritually
without experiences and without the Holy Spirit. Anything can happen when the
living voice of the living God and His wisdom and unconditional love does not
abide within us. I wish for all of us to reach our destination, so we can
overcome and prevail over the fear, with God’s divine help and with the race of
sincerity, so as to build our inner world in God. Let this be done … Amen.
CHAPTER 18 VERSE 38
Pilate said to Him “What is the truth?” And when he had said this,
he went out again to the Jews, and said to them, “I find no fault in Him at
all”.
Pilate
did not know what was the truth and did not request from Jesus to interpret the
truth because this hour, in the contest of the events, the Scriptures had to be
fulfilled; so Jesus had to be delivered and whipped as the prophesies had
proclaimed. Truth is the Prophesies of the Old Testament which is directed unto
Christ. Truth is the birth of the Lord by the Holy Spirit from Virgin Mary.
Truth is the Lord’s baptism in the Jordan River by John. Truth is His apostolic
work. Truth is the miracles. Truth is the sacrifice on the cross. Truth is the
resurrection. Truth is His ascension in front of 500 people. Truth is that the
Lord sat in the right hand of the Father. Truth is the descent of the Holy Spirit
on the apostles and granting them the gifts and powers which they used to
spread Christianity worldwide. Therefore how could an idolater (Pilate)
perceive what is the truth when the ones supposedly that know God cannot
perceive? We shall study the word of God
productively so as not to fall into the trap which we love God with our lips
and our hearts are far away from Him.
CHAPTER 18 VERSE 39-40
But you have a custom that I should release someone to you at
the Passover. Do you therefore want me to release to you the king of the Jews? Then they all cried again saying “Not this Man, but Barabbas”.
Now Barabbas was a robber.
Humanity
has voted for Barabbas and to this day Barabbas reigns. What do you think? Shall we vote with our deeds and our words for
Christ in order for us to reverse this situation of deceit that exists today
and has overshadowed the whole planet to be submerged in lie, corruption and in
death? Barabbas reveals the sin and the continuous fall which leads us to
death. Christ symbolizes the holiness, the sinless, and the incorruptible
eternal happy life. Let this be done… Amen.
